Women

I work with women who are struggling with a broad range of psychological symptoms as well as life and relationship issues. Particularly when a romantic relationship is part of the picture, many heterosexual individuals find it helpful to talk with someone of the opposite sex. I have found this to be true for myself. Often, when I’ve experienced difficulty understanding my wife’s point of view, my male friends haven’t had much insight, but speaking with a woman was truly enlightening.

Infidelity is not an issue for most of my clients, but it is for a significant minority of them.  Some of these individuals have been unfaithful themselves, but in other cases it was their partner who cheated.  I’ve gotten so many questions about how and why it is that many seemingly loving spouses are unfaithful that I wrote a book, Unfaithful Minds, to provide substantive answers.  It’s no wonder that people have questions: more than 50 percent of unfaithful men say they were happy with their marriages right up to the time that they strayed.  This fact blows some women’s minds (but it seems to hardly surprise most men).  Many women who learn that their partner has been unfaithful assume that the infidelity occurred because there is something wrong with themselves – they aren’t sufficiently beautiful or don’t have a good enough personality – or they believe that their husband no longer loves them.  In most cases, none of these things are true.
